NAPRA WELCOMES YAGGY'S CUSTOM LURES TO FOLD
NAPRA is happy to welcome Yaggy's Custom Lures to its growing list of sponsors. Makers of great spinner baits and buzz baits , Yaggy's is very passionate about their craft. Here is their story:

Our mission is to provide quality hand made fishing lures to the public. Along with showing veterans and civilians that their hobbies can make a difference with the struggles of PTSD they have to cope with on a daily basis. By making these fishing lures, Travis Yaggy (pictured above) has used his love of fishing to help cope with day to day activities and the struggles of PTSD. PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, is not just limited to veterans. However, due to the large suicide rate in the Veteran community (20-22 a day), we are using our experiences to reach out to Veterans who may also be struggling. Many disabled Veterans tend to think there's no meaning to life after the military. This is largely because being in the military gave them a sense of pride and accomplishment, which seem to be missing in their lives after separation from the military. Utilizing hobbies and skills is therapeutic for anyone with disabilities, and tends to relieve symptoms that cause struggles in life. Travis has been designing, making, and testing his lures for about 10+ years, along with encouraging other veterans to give their hobbies, and/or passion a chance to help them rediscover their self value. We have seen Veterans find their purpose and drive that gives them motivation to do something that gives them their new-found sense of pride. By motivating and mentoring them to get their goals accomplished and giving them a sense of achievement.
Yaggy's Custom Lures uses skills and knowledge to customize his lures to maximize the strength and unique color patterns. The patterns are designed to closely mimic the actual patterns and colors of the bait fish. Each lure is handcrafted by Travis, and made with quality components. They are also tested out on many different lakes, rivers, and in different weather conditions. Travis also focuses on using American made components in every part that are available.
Thank you to everyone that has been there to support Yaggy's Custom Lures on this amazing journey. It really does make a different and allows us to continue to reach out to other Veterans as well as the civilian community to teach them how they can support Veterans everywhere by supporting them with their hobbies. REFLECTION ON YEAR
Wow, year 15 in the books. NAPRA is so excited to wrap up its season and look forward to next year. Many memories of anglers news and old, beautiful fishing spots and of course lots of fish. This year was great in terms we were able to stay safe, competitive, and relaxed as we fished from early April to our final event in November. Milestones reached during the season included a new angler that at the rate of his success will join the Halleys, Fettermans, Hills, and Jones on the Mount Rushmore of NAPRA. David Craig! Get use to the name as he will be a force in 2021 and beyond. Other awesome parts of 2020 was NAPRA being featured in both local and national press, our continued connection with charities near and far and lastly another season that was fun and competitive.
Can't wait for next year! Look for a lot of info in the next few weeks...
