FIRST CAST (EXHIBITION)
NAPRA NEWS: NEWELL WINS FIRST CAST
On a very rainy and nasty day Aaron Newell scored 68.75” of fish to win the 2023 First Cast sponsored by FishUSA, Fricker's Miller Lane, Breezy Bombers, and Swampro Lures.
“He conquered the weather and rust over a very talented field.”, stated NAPRA CEO Pete Ziehler. He edged Ryan Buckler ( 65.5”) and last year champ David Craig (62”). The field averaged over 50” on a nasty day.
Thanks to our sponsors and the field is ready for the official start next week at the Big Darby. Incidentally, BOSS Series Pro Mike Cirevello fished for fun but scored a monsterous 19” fish.
Great job guys!

STAGE 2- TWIN CREEK
NAPRA NEWS: NEWELL WINS AT TWIN CREEK
When you hear an ice cream truck bell or Christmas carols, it warms you heart! In the NAPRA Elite Series when the words “Twin Creek” are uttered, Aaron Newell’s face lights up like a little toddler on December 25th. Well, today (May 21) was pleasing to Aaron as he scored 78.25” of fish to secure the Stage 2 victory at Twin Creek. His smallest of his 5 keepers was 15.25” so you know he was in for a great day. Also finishing great was David Craig, last year’s AOY, with a super 71” bag for second place. New 2023 AOY Standings leader Steve Eckstein finished third with 69.25”, good for 3rd place. Collectively the field of 12 caught an almost 45” on average on a good day but tough day due to the recent cold front. Three fish caught scored over 17” so you know its just heating up.
