Newell Wins First Cast. Sets the pace for 2024 Regular Season
The 2024 NAPRA Season kicked off with its 15th annual First Cast, a great exhibition for new anglers to meet the veterans, shake off the rust, and highlight great sponsors. Well, it appears 2024 will be a continuation of Aaron Newell's dominance but with the gap closing.
Newell secured 70 inches of fish to win the event followed closely by Dave Schaller's 64". Third was Dave Craig with 61". The striking thing is the fact the rivers are starting to warm up and great totals and big fish, including a 19" by PJ Varnadoe tells you it is going to be a great year.
The YUM Elite Series kicks off in 2 weeks on the upper portion of the Big Darby.
